Screen Printing

Screen Printing is a very general term used to describe any process in which ink gets forced through a screen onto the print material. The earliest versions of this art form used silk mesh (which is why some people still call it Silk Screen Printing) but now synthetic fiber screens are used because they are more uniform, provide a clearer print and are more durable.

At Print World we screen print on a wide variety of textiles. From towels to custom T-shirts we can screen print on them all. And our automatic screen printing press ensures a consistent output whether you are printing 12 custom T's for a party or 500 shirts for your corporate event.

We generally prefer plastisol inks. These are the inks that you are probably most familiar with and are the same as what are used on T-Shirts bought at any retail location. They enable us to print bold, vibrant color on a wide range of garments.

Samples & Processes

We are equipped to screen print in a variety of processes depending on what works best for the given design. One of the benefits of screen printing is it is very versatile. We can use:

Spot Color Printing

Screen printing at its most basic. Printing any number of custom colors where each color has its own screen. The colors can be out of our stock selection or custom mixed from almost any Pantone Color.

Process Printing

4 color process uses four screens (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) with halftones (very small dots that enable us to print a gradation of color) to print a wide range of colors. Great for photographs or really colorful designs that would be too many screens to print in spot color.

Simulated Process Printing

Process printing generally only works well on light shirts. Simulated process enables photorealistic printing on any color of shirt. This process usually uses 5 or more screens.

Index Printing

Great for designs that have a lot of detail in a limited color palate or for designs where dot gain can be an issue. For example a sepia toned image would be ideal for index.

These are just a few of the many designs we have created and printed at our Escondido, California location. If you want to see samples of any other process or if you have any questions about screen printing please don't hesitate to call or E-mail us with your questions.
